Every year, fall arrives in the middle of September and the cool weather and harvesting
begins. During this time of the year, the leaves turn from vivid green to red, to yellow, orange and brown. It is also a great season for important holidays such as Thanksgiving and Halloween. Fall is here and students reflect on the first cooler season of the school year.
Junior Mariah Harty made a statement about the length of fall break. She said, “Not really. Two days off? That’s not a break.” The meaning of fall to her is cuddling on the couch with a blanket and some hot chocolate. Harty also wants fall break to be longer.
Senior Priscilla Hammonds stated about what fall meant to her. She says that “Fall means falling leaves, raking leaves, pretty colors, Halloween and Thanksgiving.” Hammonds enjoys Thanksgiving and she quoted, “I love the food and the family time.” The one thing she would like to during the fall season is jump in a pile of leaves.
Senior Ricardo Soto quoted about his favorite thing about the fall season, “I like fall because I love wearing sweatshirts and playing in the leaves.” Soto made a statement about his plans for fall break, “I plan on enjoying the weather and my hot chocolate and grandma’s cooking.” Soto’s favorite seasons are summer and fall. Summer because he gets to go tanning and go boating, but during fall he enjoys the cold weather and straight chill through his senior year.
Senior Zach Mahan made a statement about his favorite thing about the fall season, “The qualities that I love most about fall is the falling leaves, the carving of Jack- O- Lanterns, Halloween decorations and treats, and Thanksgiving of course!” Mahan would like to go to a corn maze and a pumpkin patch. Mahan is ready for fall break and he quotes, “After all, seems like each day flies by quickly.”
Fall will end just as quickly as the other seasons, so the students of PHS are making the best of this wonderful season and their fall break.
Great story, Shelby! 🙂
This was exciting to read.
