Ms. Megan Orr grew up in Long Branch, New Jersey. Growing up as a child, she wanted to be a writer.

To pursue this dream, Ms. Orr started writing novels at age five. Her junior year of high school she went to Europe, England, France, Germany, and Mexico. She even made a special trip to Canada to see Niagara Falls.

Ms. Orr attended college at Bob Jones University, in Greenville, South Carolina. Although, as much as she loves teaching English, her other choice of subject, if she had to choose, would be Speech. Ms. Orr also knows Spanish. She can understand what people are saying, but can not speak it fluently.

Ms. Orr is not new to teaching. She first started teaching English in 2003, at Grace Baptist Christian School, in Plymouth. Some of the amazing, creative, fun teachers there inspired her to be the teacher that she is now. She got into the transition to teaching program and applied for teaching positions. Mr. Condon, Plymouth’s principal, called her and asked for an interview, leading to her acceptance.

So far, she has enjoyed teaching at PHS. She loves the environment. At first, she was unsure about how it would be, since it is her first time teaching the same material to multiple classes, but she loves it.  When students are learning from her teaching lessons, she is also learning from her students and that is what she likes the most.

“I try to make class participation fun by making sure everyone is included, no matter what the question is. There is never a bad answer in the class,” Ms. Orr said.
