On Wednesday night, August 24, Dance Marathon held a successful Painting for a Purpose fundraiser at Opie’s Deli.

On this particular art night, people were painting abstract circles.

Mrs. Haley Church said, “We wanted people to feel like they could have fun and still be creative.”

August 24th was the first Painting for a Purpose fundraiser. However, Dance Marathon has held many other fundraisers to raise money for the Riley Hospital for Children. The PHSDM leaders plan to have more art nights in the coming years.

A common favorite from the hosts of the Painting for a Purpose night was how creative people were with their paintings.

Travis Owen, president of the Dance Marathon, said, “My favorite part of hosting the Art Night was seeing all the different directions people went with their paintings whether that was going with a different color scheme than the example to completely changing the idea and using their imagination. Most importantly, I loved having fun while raising money for Riley Hospital for Children.”
