The boys soccer team has gotten off to a 9-2 start.
Plymouth went on a seven game winning streak to start off the season with notable 2-1 victories against Warsaw and Goshen. Goshen at the time was ranked third in the state by the Indiana Soccer Coaches Association. Defeating conference foe Warsaw is always a thrill for any Plymouth athletic team.
The Blueberry tournament also resulted in wins for the Rockies. A 11-3 victory put the Rockies past Logansport. Jorge Calix (Jr.) was named player of the match with two goals. Plymouth finished the tournament with a 7-0 win against the Mishawaka Cavemen. Gustavo Castaneda (Sr.) was named man of the match with two goals and an assist.
The Rockies have scored 47 goals this season, averaging 4.3 a game. Top scorers include, Gustavo Castaneda (Sr.) with 9, Sam Tanner (Jr.) with 6, and Oscar Pico (Sr.) with 5.
Plymouth enjoyed two conference wins against Warsaw and Goshen. Conference losses came against Concord and Elkhart Memorial. The Rockies are currently fourth in the conference. Their most recent game against Concord was 3-0 loss. The loss ended the Rockie’s shot at a Northern Lakes Conference Championship. Concord is currently atop the conference standings with a 6-0-1 record.
