Being effective influences students or staff workers on how they work.
May it be students or staff workers at the Plymouth High School, people work effectively. It may not be all the time that they work effectively. When it comes to being effective, people will have many different definitions. Administrative Secretary Mrs. Huff said, “To me being effective is when you are organized. You have to be on top of things and alert.” Also, senior Sommer McClellan said that working effectively is “working hard and getting things done.”
Students or staff workers could have a certain time when they worked really hard on something; a time where they were most effective. Senior Emmelyn Brandt said, “For student council we do a party for underprivileged kids and I feel like I worked really hard to raise money for them.” Also sophomore Matthew Favorite said, “Well when a teacher is looking over me I work harder. I have to have motivation.”

PHS’s staff and students may also like working by themselves or in a team. Sophomore Tyler Meece said, “I like working in a team because it’s less boring and I get more work done.” Senior Sidney Listenberger said, “I like working by myself because I can rely on myself better than other people.” Mrs. Huff said, “Well I’d have to say I like a little of both. I like working by myself to decide on my time limit so that I can organize, but I also like working on a team pulling together working with everyone.”
When a person is being effective he or she has certain traits. The traits could be anything. Listenberger said that the traits of an effective person are, “Helpful, caring, and hardworking. If you have these traits you are willing to get your stuff done and help people.” Also Brandt said, “Hard working, respectful, and kind. To be effective I think you have to be able to be kind to others and [a part] of being kind is helping other people and being able to work for what you are working towards.”
Being effective can make a person have certain feelings. It could be feeling accomplished or it could just be something simple like feeling happy. Sophomore Maria Vazques said, “I feel satisfied when I am being effective and working hard.” Sophomore Mia Arroyo said, “I get more motivated and I feel like I have more positive feedback when I do the work I really care about.”
Being effective could be hardworking or just being motivated.
