High school has many different perspectives depending on the person, and throughout the years has been categorized as several different things such as fun, crazy, entertaining, and interesting.

When asked what the best part of high school is, sophomore Madison Keller said, “The best part of high school is getting to know different people, and doing the different activities.” This, in turn, helps her manage stress. She states, “I usually find myself very stressed out from mostly my English homework. I usually just go out and hang with friends for a while to get my mind off of school.” Sophomore Thomas Cole agrees with Keller and that in order to be successful, feels he needs good friends and support from the people around him. He, however, manages stress differently saying, “I just go into weights and work out.”

School can become very challenging at times. Thomas said finals were the most challenging, whereas senior Brian Deacon thinks his junior year was the greatest obstacle.  Also brought up was the question of whether high school is actually the best four years of a person’s life.

Keller answered, “Yeah sure. It’s the last four years of school. I think high school is where you truly find out who you are, and it slowly prepares you for the real world before you go off to pursue your greatest dreams.” Cole believes that high school is the best four years of his life, but Deacon on the other hand, is partial. “It depends on who you are and what you do,” he said.

All three of these students have some idea of what they want to do in the future.  All are taking classes that could potentially help them in their later years. Keller is currently taking  Earth Space and Science, English, Spanish, Algebra, and Animal Science.  “I’m pretty much taking these classes so that I can get my credits. Animal Science I am taking for my future job of being a veterinarian.” Cole has plans of going to school for mechanics and to get into the military, whereas Keller has been thinking about becoming a veterinarian.  Deacon is still in the process of deciding a career, but knows he would like to go to Purdue or Valparaiso University.

These students have open minds and plans for the future.  They know the steps they need to take to reach their goals and are pursuing their dreams on a daily basis.
