From horror to comedy films, and from reality shows to the evening news, television brings a lot to the eye.

There are those who watch movies for the actors or the actual content of the film, and there are those who are fascinated by the genres. A couple of the more popular genres for those interviewed were romance and action. However, sophomore Stephanie Boyle said, “I like action, adventure, comedy, paranormal, & mystery movie genres.” Junior Megan Snyder differs from Boyle, as she says that she cannot stand scary movies. Snyder sticks more to science fiction movies. She describes her favorite television show. “Doctor Who is a British tv show about a time traveling alien and his companions. They go to other times and planets,” she says.

If the opportunity came up for some of the interviewees, they would star in a film themselves. Sophomore LeaAnna Miller said, “I would star in an action movie with Gerard Butler because he’s good-looking.” Miller also commented that she looks for good looking men and romance when picking out movies. Similar to Miller, senior Stephanie Moran says that she looks for attractive men while picking out movies. She said, “They have to deal a lot with what I like.” On the contrary, freshmen Kayla Brissette said, “I would star in a scary movie with Scotty McCreery.”

With all new television shows and movies, television watchers have multiple options on what to watch. Junior Bailee Couch and Brissette said that Teen Mom was among their top 5 television shows they watch most. Four of the 9 interviewees had an investigating show as one of their top 5.

Sports, volunteer work, and other things keep the students from watching their drama-filled reality shows, action-filled films, and their crime scene investigating shows.  Freshman Morganne Kviz said she watches television every night. However, there are those students who do not watch television that much. Sophomore Delaney Keiser says that she only watches television about one to two hours a week. Junior Alli Rust said that she watches television, “Maybe 30 minutes to an hour a day.”
