This year, Plymouth High School has added a few new members to its family. One of these teachers is the health and PE teacher Mr. Grant Fulton.
When a new teacher becomes a new addition to the PHS staff family, some may wonder why they chose to work here. Mr. Fulton explains, “PHS is a pioneer in technological education. As exhibited by the caring personnel, teachers here strive to be the best in the state and get the most out of their students. Along with the quality of the school, Plymouth is a great community where I can raise a family and feel confident that they will feel a sense of belonging.” Moving from one school to another can be a big change, but sometimes it can be beneficial for both the teacher and student alike.
Meeting the new staff at a new school can be difficult when one is not from around the area and does not know the people there. “PHS has been a great place to work, even though I am stuck with Barron,” Mr. Fulton joked. He continues to explain, “The faculty is quick to lend a helping hand, yet allow me to teach in my own manner. As a PE teacher and coach, the facilities here are excellent and allow for quite a bit of freedom.”
Mr. Fulton received his teaching education from Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana, but PHS is not his first teaching job however. “Before coming to PHS, I was a student teacher at Noblesville Middle School and Alexandria Intermediate School,” explains Mr. Fulton. Keeping your body healthy and fit is important to Mr. Fulton. “What is the point of developing your mind if you have nowhere to keep it? Physical Education and Health teach the skills that enable students to improve and enhance all other facets of learning,” says Mr. Fulton.
Outside of his new family at PHS, Mr. Fulton has an actual family at home. “Currently, my family is my beautiful wife Rachel, and me. However, Fulton additions are on the way,” Mr. Fulton says.
“I play any sport that I can (I am a PE teacher), spend time with my wife, get involved in church, win fantasy football leagues and anything that has to do with basketball,” says Mr. Fulton. Teachers do have hobbies, and getting involved in the community is always a positive thing.
Nice story. 🙂
