The guidance department recently opened a college and career resource center in the orange room of WSOI. This space will be utilized before, throughout, and after the school day to provide guidance to students who need it.
The space will be open during fifth hour every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. It will also be open during eighth hour every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The space will be available for help before school from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. and after school from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. The space would be of most use to juniors and seniors in helping students prepare for visiting and applying to colleges, as well as providing help with studying for standardized tests like the SAT and ACT.
The space can also be of potential use to people who want to learn more about careers. It can be used to learn interview skills as well as resume writing, making it useful to some freshmen and sophomores as well if they want to learn some career skills. Overall, the space is available to anyone who wants help in planning and preparing for their future outside of high school.
