To celebrate their hard work over the past four years, seniors plan on putting together goodbye celebrations. During the last year of high school, there are multiple things to do, such as taking senior pictures, making college applications, and packing.

There are those who will have a graduation party that has to be planned ahead of time. Students might find it hard to say goodbye to their friends when they head off to college to start their new lives. Graduation parties let seniors make one last memory with friends that will never be forgotten. Senior Jordan Kelly has been planning her graduation party for nearly a month. Kelly said she did not have a budget for herself, and has not bought anything yet. The theme for her graduation party is simply “red and white because it is her school’s colors.” Senior Courtney Zentz started planning her graduation party in March of this year because she had completed all of her classes in February. Zentz did not have a budget because “her parents are paying for it.”

Having a job is useful, especially when it comes to senior year, and students save the money they earn. Zentz said, “It’s good to save as much money as you can when throwing a graduation party because then you can put it towards college and your life in the real world.” Several people will be attending graduation parties throughout the month of June and July. A good mix of family and friends will be attending Kelly’s graduation party.

The theme of a graduation party is a huge part of all parties, no matter how big or small. For senior Beca Lee, her theme is “new vintage.” Lee said she likes to be different. The theme for Zentz graduation party is pink, black, and gold. She said, “I choose this because I wanted it to resemble me. I didn’t want to go with school colors. I wanted to celebrate myself and all my hard work with things I liked.”

The next important item at a graduation party would have to be the food. At Lee’s party, she will mainly be serving “pulled pork/chicken, along with some all beef hot dogs.” There will be tons of food served at Zentz’ graduation party, but her main dish will be “pulled pork.” She also plans on having something a little different, a “cupcake bar!”

Senior Tanner Virgil has been planning his graduation party for about 3 months, and chose not to have a theme. His party will take place outdoors in his backyard. A majority of his guests will be his family members. Tanner said, “I will be attending several other graduation parties.” Virgil said, “Tacos are my favorite food so that will be the main thing that will be served at my graduation party.” Tanner said, “I can’t wait for my graduation party because I get to see my friends and family.”
