Be prepared for the movies of 2015. From drama, to horror, to comedies, there are several movies coming this year that are expected to be a huge hit.

It is finally 2015, and along with the new year, there are new movies. Coming out this year are movies about superheroes, love, time travel, dinosaurs, singing, and more. Several people like freshmen Nathaniel Ruggles plan to go to the movie theatres for “that large screen effect.” While others such as sophomore Jon Sommers said, “It depends on what I am doing the nights that it comes out.” There are several expectations of the movies that come out and people like freshmen Kirkland Hettich says, “maybe a few” movies of 2015 will be better than the year that just passed. Others can expect that the the directors, actors, or the way the movie was made has improved throughout the years.
The actual film people watch in cinemas are detailed and require lots of work and effort. A film needs directors, actors, producers, and of course the rest of the cast to help make them. There are other things that play a big part of filmmaking like special effects. Sommers believes special effects play a big part of filming because, ”99 percent of most movies made last year were made of, CGI [Computer-generated Imagery].” Some movies would not be the same without special effects. Hettich agrees saying,”I think they do because if you look at a Michael Bay movie it wouldn’t look good without the explosions.” But special effects are not the only thing that makes a movie good. There are actors that have to portray the character and try to bring to life some fictional or real person. That is not always an easy task to accomplish. There are certain expectations that an actor or actresses are expected to follow. Not everyone is accepting of them as well. One opinions of this is of Rigo Calix who says, ”I think every actor has a different personality. But they know if the actors or actresses are not right for a specific film, that they may be right for other films.”

At times actors do not just have to bring an original script to life, but they may have to bring an actual book to life. It is not always simple, ”they don’t always look like the people in the books,” Hettich explains. Sometimes appearance affect they way someone judges the movie. Especially if it is based off a book. They have to do their best to meet the expectations of those who watch the movie or those who have actually read the book. Some people do not have the time to watch the movie adaption because like Ruggles said, ”people who don’t enjoy reading can also enjoy it as a film. “ This gives people the chance to know what a story is about without reading the actual story. Movie adaptation is not all they are talking about. Film makers are also making movie remakes. Like some Hettich believes, ”the originals are always the best. Like Star Wars.” Others like Sommers say, ”I think that if it is a classic people will be mad about the remake, but If you look on the bright side, younger teens will be able to get into the movies, and will most likely watch the older movies, And the newer ones have much better CGI.”
Movies are more complicated than they look. There are many reasons why people go to the movies and several reasons people watch movies generally. The question is who is going to go to watch the next big blockbuster?
