On August 8, 2014 a new location to purchase ice cream was opened, “Mooney’s.” Students and families have been approaching to get their sweet treats.

Jon Webster, the co-owner of Mooney’s, expects major objectives from his business. He wants the customers to be satisfied and able to come to Mooney’s with family and friends to enjoy a sweet treat such as ice cream. At Mooney’s

they offer ice cream, shakes, small treats, and a taste that’s unbelievable. Senior Laney Mora explained, “I enjoyed a scrumptious root beer floor that hit the spot, they also have really good strawberry smoothies.” She added, “I like Mooney’s because it’s not just your original ice cream parlor. It makes you feel welcomed and even after you enjoy your delicious ice-cream you can grab a dum-dum sucker on your way out.” Senior Anna Piazza stated, “The atmosphere is laid back, exciting, fun, new, and tasty.” Mora also explained “Mooney’s is very calm, especially right now since the bridge is getting re-done so there isn’t much traffic, but it’s a cute little parlor inside, and looks sanitary.” Freshman Summer Smith has an opposing opinion about Mooney’s though. She said, “The atmosphere is bright and cheery but it’s a bit small and crowded.”

Mora didn’t notice Mooney’s until “My aunt decided to treat me out to ice-cream after we had a day of shopping together.” Mora also added, “Mooney’s is different because all the other ice-creams come out of a machine, yet Mooney’s they scoop out the ice-cream you would like, with at least 15 different flavors.” Piazza agreed Mora and saying, “There are large amounts of ice-cream for a reasonable price and there are lots of flavors to choose from.”

Even though students of PHS have only been to Mooney’s a few times, they enjoyed the atmosphere, sweet treats, and memories made with their family and friends.
