Jewel Marie “Jay” Brown is not the typical, gum chewing, eye rolling teenager in high school. She is a unique individual with values, pet peeves and an aura of genuine positivity. Spend five minutes around her and you will realize she has a lot of energy and a lot to say. As a child, Jay was very mischievous. She would use firecrackers and other pyrotechnics to destroy barbie dolls and other such toys. Fortunately, she has outgrown this. In her early years, she was destructive, maybe a little bit mean, and maybe a little bit obnoxious, but her family loved her.
Even though she has lived in Plymouth her whole life, she intends to move to Ireland, or “anywhere that’s not America.” Jay lives with her mother and sister, but she really enjoys hanging out with her best friends, Sam and Brisa. They all share similar values and personality traits, such as giggling, love of cats, and YouTube.
In her free time she surfs the internet, watching and creating videos on YouTube. In fact, she plans to go to college to study filmmaking. Her favorite movie is 22 Jump Street, a fairly new movie. Jay hates rap, and in keeping with her nonconformity, prefers to listen to a cappella.
She has some interesting stories, too. Just this year she lost a baby tooth. Baby teeth are often lost by age 10. She was also the only female wrestler at Plymouth High School, but coaches made her give it up because they didn’t think she could follow through with it. She is over it now, and she just wants people to understand that she didn’t quit willingly. Giving up is simply not in her nature.
