Senior Brandon Smith joined Student Publications because he “likes writing about sports and watching them.”
An influential figure in Smith’s life is Peyton Manning. He really likes Peyton Manning because he likes Manning’s values and how he is a good role role model for kids who are interested in playing football.
Smith was born on June 17, 1999 in Plymouth, Indiana. He lives with his mom, and has an older brother named Blake. During the summer and fairs he works for his grandparents at “Tom’s Tasty Taters” and he has been working there as long as he can remember.
An interesting fact about Smith is that he originally signed up for Stage Crew/Acting but ended up taking acting instead.
“I wanted to do stage crew, but accidentally signed up for acting, but wound up really liking it,” said Smith.
He also enjoys bowling and is a returning member of Bowling Club. His favorite book is The Hunger Games because he liked the romance in the story. His favorite movie is Talladega Nights because he enjoys watching cars race. His favorite type of music to listen to is country because he likes the voices and his favorite singer is Kid Rock because he likes his patriotism.
Going on with the theme of patriotism, Smith’s favorite color is red because he “likes it on the American flag.”
For life after high school, Smith plans on taking a gap year, then taking classes at Ivy Tech. He plans on a career going into paramedics and fire fighting.
“I’ve always wanted to save lives and what’s cooler than being a firefighter? I’ve wanted to do that my whole life.”

Junior Alicia Smith previously attended LaVille Junior-Senior High School. Her family consists of her parents, two sisters, Tricia and Pam, and her brother, Brian. She is a new member to the Student Publications staff. Smith joined Student Publications because she has “always loved photography and loved the yearbook. I couldn’t join the team before and saw my chance this year and took it.”
Alicia’s hobbies include drawing and photography. Photography is one area she hopes to excel at in Student Publications.
She loves to be around people and build connections with them.
“My devotion in life is to help and learn about people,” she said.
Her plans after high school are to become a Pediatric Nurse. She is unsure about what college she wants to attend, but is positive about this career path, so she can continue helping people in the future.
Alicia is also a first year member of the Plymouth Pilgrims girls soccer team.
