Students at Plymouth High School discuss their first trimester of this school year and what they will remember of it. Sophomore Melanie Cooper said she will remember “all the fun times I’ve had in my science class with my friends.” Senior William Wleklinski will remember something other than classes. “I will remember the insane Pep Rally we had.” Freshman Conner Mathews, a football player on the freshman team, says that he will remember beating Goshen this season. Senior Olivia Coulter will remember something that is un-sports related. “I will remember how much yearbook class sparked my interest in photography. Using the super nice cameras was an eye-opener as well,” said Coulter. Along with remembering something from a Fine Arts, Tepper remembers band. “I’ll always remember my marching band season! We made it all the way to state! This is the second time in school history, and the first time as Class B. We made history!”

Cooper ponders over how her first trimester of her sophomore year went. Photo by: Elizabeth Jackson

To some, the first trimester of school has gone by quickly. For Freshman Victoria Leazenby, the trimester went by quickly because “We are so compacted with activities and because I have fun classes like Theater Arts.” For Tepper, she thinks her trimester went by quickly because, “I always had mounds of homework, plus I was busy with marching band.” Cooper said, “I think that this trimester really has gone by very quickly, I credit this mostly to the fact that I have allowed myself to have a lot more fun with my friends at school.”

Successes during school are very important to one’s future. Tepper said, “I am so proud of my Algebra II grade because I actually tried this year and did my homework. It really paid off!” To sophomore Sophia Smith, her biggest success was making it to state finals and all the hard work that she put into getting to state. “My biggest success was my football season. It’s hard work,” said Mathews. Freshman Leonardo Baca said, “The fact that I’ve made it this far and was given good reports on my report card is quite an achievement to me.” Memorable moments will be with students for a lifetime.

Memories may last a lifetime and for students, many memories were made during the first trimester of the school year. Tepper has many memories from the first trimester, but three of her favorite are, “Band making state, getting a near perfect score on my math test and my best friend taking her very last pill for Chemotherapy!” Junior Nadia Baca has three different memorable moments. “The very quirky and random conversations in Mrs. Ring’s English class, the cultural experience day we had in Chinese class and meeting new friends were my top three!” Not all memorable moments from this trimester have to be about what happened inside the classroom. Mathews’s moments happened not in the classroom, but on the field. “The entire football season in general, beating Goshen and losing to Concord,” said Mathews.
