It is an annual event celebrated twice a year where the \u201cpeppiness\u201d of students comes alive.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This year, the event\u2019s theme was \u201cDream Big.&#8221; On Monday, students kicked off spirit week by \u201cdreaming\u201d in their pajamas. On Tuesday, students released their wild side by imagining they were their favorite animal. On Wednesday, students went all western by dressing up as either a cowboy or Indian. On Thursday, students lived in color as they dressed by their specified class color. (SENIORS &#8211; BLACK; JUNIORS &#8211; BLUE; SOPHOMORES &#8211; PURPLE; FRESHMEN &#8211; PINK) Finally, Friday students had the chance to show off their school colors during the pep rally and at the Friday night basketball game against Goshen.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_6291\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/social.plymouth.k12.in.us\/perspective\/?attachment_id=6291\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6291\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6291\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6291\" alt=\"Certain boys from each grade had the opportunity to perform a humorous dance in front of their peers. Photo by Mrs. Mary Gifford<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Every student had the option whether or not to participate in homecoming week. \u00a0For example, Sophomore Kristina Bannow chose to participate in homecoming activities because, \u201c [I think] it\u2019s awesome we get to wear unusual clothes.\u201d Also agreeing with her statement is Sophomore Noemi Aguilar who said, \u201cGet to dress up Crazy!\u201d \u00a0On the other hand, Junior Taylor Scott says his favorite part about homecoming week was \u201cSpirit!\u201d People cannot \u00a0forget the excitement that students had when it is time to have a pep rally.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_6290\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/social.plymouth.k12.in.us\/perspective\/?attachment_id=6290\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6290\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6290\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6290\" alt=\"Sophomores start cheering for their class to win the class competition during the Pep Rally. Photo by Mrs. Mary Gifford<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Students in PHS realized the benefits of homecoming week. For example, it gave students the chance to express their creativity. Sophomore Nadia Baca said, \u201cIt raises school spirit at PHS!\u201d \u00a0On the other hand Senior Traci Longanecker said, \u201cI think it benefits students because they get to wear things that they normally wouldn\u2019t get to wear school.\u201d Those are not the only two reasons why it benefits our school. Sophomore Cassi Quissell said, \u201cIt would get [students] excited representing our school.\u201d Having a homecoming week was a good way to get students involved with their \u201cpeppy\u201d side.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Elizabeth Gallardo Last week was Plymouth High School\u2019s homecoming week.
