Taking pictures has just become a common, almost routine act in a teen’s life. Senior Morgan O’Neal as well as senior Kelsey Schneiders agreed that they both take a lot of pictures. O’Neal said that she is constantly carrying her camera in her purse and Schneiders added “ I probably annoy family and friends by always taking pictures, but it’s fun.” O’Neal likes the idea of taking many pictures because then she is able to said, “Remember that one time we did that one thing or went to that one place,” and she has a picture for that moment.

The idea of a “good” photo is all dependent on a person’s opinion, and everyone has his/her own opinion. Sophomore Mariah Tepper said “the smiles” are what make a good picture, while on the technical side of things freshman Simone Yates said a good picture is not blurry and gives something interesting to look at. On the technical side of photography, yearbook member Schnieders said “I think lighting is one of the most important factors in a good photo. I also like to try to take pictures of close up things or from angles that people don’t normally look at, so they can see everyday objects in new ways.”

People have their own reasons for taking pictures; it is all based on opinions. Mariah Tepper explained that, “[I] take pictures with my iPod and I’ll upload them on Facebook or Instagram.” Sophomore Cassi Quissell said she likes the idea of having the ability to look back on photos and see how people’s appearances change. She also said she takes a bunch of pictures because, “I like to keep good memories around.” Sophomore Amber Eckman agrees with Quissell in that she too likes to capture moments that she does not want to forget.

To teens pictures are more than just pictures, they have became a part of their daily lives and are a way that they save their closest memories.

By: Rebeca Lee Teenagers as well as other people take and use numerous pictures everyday for many different reasons, making photography a big part of a teen’s world.

[1
37
post-6115","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-entertainment","tag-january-2013
