From plaid to polka dots, from skirts to sweats, from pumps to sneakers, there is all kinds of clothing being worn.

“Skinny jeans plus boots and a warm shirt is my most commonly worn outfit,” says junior Breanna Morrow. Because the winter season’s fashion is so versatile, there are many ideas on the perfect winter outfit. “Blue jeans and a T-Shirt,” is senior Abigail Gouker’s favorite outfit for the winter season, while senior Clay Corsbie likes “… flannel, and thermal shirts.” Because students recognize money is not always available, they prioritize what they purchase.

If money were no object, sophomore Faith Hutchens would buy,“…a sweater for the winter. To me, they are just cute, but they can also be more comfortable and you can still look cute, and when you wear a sweater you can dress it up or down at either way it will look good.” Although she may like a sweater, freshman Haley Brown would purchase more jeans and boots.

Stores are all around people, and all offer different products. Junior Danielle Erickson, freshman Skyler Holland and sophomore Ryan MacLain all have different favorite stores to shop at during the winter season. “My very favorite store in the world is Forever 21. I go there for clothing during all seasons,” says Erickson. However, Holland gets most of his winter attire by “…shopping on the internet or I will buy from Yoders.” Dick’s Sporting goods, Target and JCPenney are stores that MacLain favors for the winter season.

Whether in school, athletics, or work, there are people that inspire others’ fashions. “[I like] to dress more like my past FFA teacher/ advisor.. Mama Hoffman aka Mrs. Kreider,” sophomore Taylor Shively said. “She was born and raised on the farm just like me, she is a boot fanatic like myself, and she showed cattle and raised livestock like I do, but I love her wardrobe because one minute she can be all country and get down and muddy with sweatshirts, t-shirts, and boots and then the next she can turn around and she looks like a movie star but yet still have that country effect in her wardrobe” Shively adds. Although some admire their teachers, others may admire their peers. “Kam Markovich just has a really good taste in clothes. So when he brought Puma back everyone wanted to wear Puma. I still do,” says junior Mason Reed. Because of the new advance in technology, it has also become a trend to look on the world wide web to find new ideas for fashion. “Well, Pinterest inspires me! Also, I look at what other people are wearing at school,” says sophomore Nadia Baca.

From heels to sneakers, from sweaters to tank tops, from jeans to tights, fashion comes in all shapes and sizes. PHS’s fashion is diverse throughout.

By Elizabeth Jackson Although winter brings the coldest weather of all the seasons, it also brings its own style.

[8
33
post-5887","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-feature","tag-december-2012
