Some are favored more than others.

A couple of Plymouth High School students were asked what their favorite gift was and why it was their favorite gift. Senior Brian Deacon said, “The best gift I have ever received was a flat screen TV with a brand new Xbox 360.” Not all students have the same opinion as Deacon. Sophomore Madalyn Lambert said the best gift to her is money, which she is able to spend on anything she wants. People have their own opinions of what they prefer, and every opinion is different.

Having her favorite gift in thought, Morgan Thomas smiles while remembering her family. Sophomore Tristan Roberts said, “The best gift I was ever given would be when I was little I got my first puppy for Christmas. This was the best gift because I was only 5 years old and getting a puppy was exciting.” Both junior Logan Neidlinger and sophomore Tanner Virgil decided their favorite gift was a source of practicality. Each one said their favorite gift was their vehicle. Neidlinger said, “The reason that was the best gift I have ever received is because I use my car every single day to make the long journey to school and back every single day. It also allows me more freedoms now. I can go to my girlfriend’s house instead of having to beg and plead with my mom to take me. My car is the best gift I have ever gotten.” Virgil was given his car by his grandfather, and is very grateful that he has it.

Not everyone’s favorite gift has to be bought. Sometimes the best gift is not always materialistic. It is a gift that is close to a person’s heart. Junior Morgan Thomas said her favorite gift was a happy home.

As stated, gifts do not always have to be purchased. Material things help to make people happy. The love and generosity that come from an individual’s family are very important as well and should definitely be considered.

By: Rebeca Lee Birthdays, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and anniversaries are all occasions that people receive gifts on.
