October is almost over, but it is still the beginning of autumn. People have various emotions and thoughts about the season, but included with autumn are the beginning of holidays. In October, the first holiday is celebrated with ghosts and goblins. This holiday is Halloween. <\/p>\n

Autumn comes with more than just colder weather and Halloween. Freshman Isabelle Miller said, \u201cI personally like when it gets really cold during the fall, plus it starts speech season.\u201d Senior Kayla Guyberson on the other hand disagrees with Miller. As Guyberson said, \u201cI love the colors, and my birthday is in November. But I just HATE the cold. If the trees could change colors without the cold, I would really really love it.\u201d Freshman Gabrielle Garver agrees with Guyberson as she said, \u201cI\u2019m not ready for the change of weather. While the leaves are very pretty, it is just too cold for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Halloween to some people is one thing that makes autumn even more interesting. As people set up decorations and put candy in their bowls, senior Hope Babcock says she is excited about going over to her grandpa\u2019s house, sitting with her nephew, and passing out candy. \u201cI love to see him in his costumes,\u201d she adds. Miller gives three simple things that she gets excited about when she thinks about Halloween stating, \u201cMy birthday, fall [and] candy.\u201d Garver agrees with Miller about getting excited for the candy, but she also mentions that she gets excited about the parties and the costumes. Guyberson elaborates by saying she gets excited about, \u201cSeeing so much creativity with the costumes!\u201d<\/p>\n

Some people may not be dressing up this year. Miller says that she probably will not be dressing up for Halloween and the same goes for Guyberson, \u201cI have to work,\u201d she said. \u201cI wish I had thought of a costume, I think a flapper girl would have been fun,\u201d Babcock said. Garver on the other hand will be dressing up as a unicorn. \u201cIt\u2019s pretty awesome,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Even if some people are not dressing up, they might be handing out candy. Miller said she was not dressing up, but she will be participating in Halloween with giving candy to children. She believes that children like chocolate the most. \u201cI love to hand out candy, watching the little kids is so cute. I think lots of kids really like Reese\u2019s,\u201d Babcock said. Garver on the other hand said, \u201cNo, we don\u2019t hand out candy because we live so far out into the country that nobody comes by our house. I definitely think little kids love anything chocolate or gummy.\u201d She also adds, \u201cThey\u2019re little kids, so they love pretty much all types of candy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trick-or-treating, dressing up and handing out candy are just a few things that come with autumn and Halloween. Guyberson lists that ghost stories, watching scary movies and going to haunted parks are some additionally popular things that people do around this time. Garver said, \u201cOther than trick-or-treating, people go to the pumpkin patch, carve pumpkins, go to haunted houses with friends, and throw awesome costume parties.\u201d Babcock said, \u201cI think trick-or-treating is definitely the most common activity, but pumpkin carving and things like caramel apples and apple cider are strung in all of the traditions.\u201d
\nHalloween only comes once a year. so people should go all out with screams and thrills as they celebrate. Trick-or-treating, dressing up, going to haunted houses and more, are just the beginning of autumn because after Halloween, becomes a time of thankfulness.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
