Photo by: Patricia Ortiz<\/p><\/div>\n<p><em>By Patricia Ortiz<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Yearbooks are kept forever. \u00a0In the years to come, students may look back on the PHS yearbook for the 2011-2012 school year. \u00a0Those alumni will notice that the book is In All Directions.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In All Directions is the theme for this year\u2019s yearbook. \u00a0Every year, the theme is different. \u00a0\u00a0The theme was chosen over the summer. \u00a0Senior Samantha Hellinga, Co-Editor-in-Chief, said that last summer, \u201cwe had a meeting with some of the other seniors in yearbook and talked about themes. \u00a0I think it was Kylie Ludwig that came up with \u2018In All Directions\u2019 and we decided it would be a good one because of changes like getting the MacBooks. \u00a0This was a major change that could send us in all directions. \u00a0Examples: changes in how things are taught, how we do homework, technical difficulties with computers&#8230;\u201d \u00a0Mrs. Amy Schmeltz, yearbook advisor, explains that students \u201creally are scattered in all directions with technology, sports, clubs, jobs, school and homework.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The yearbook has many exciting features like the sports, student life, clubs and a variety of other sections that are sure to be amazing. \u00a0According to Mrs. Schmeltz, the theme of the yearbook will be carried out \u201cthrough creative captions, headlines, and the use of photos and graphic elements.\u201d \u00a0Senior Lindsey Downs, Co-Editor-in-Chief, said that because \u201cthe theme has to do with directions, we use arrows a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Both Mrs. Schmeltz and Downs agree that their favorite part of the yearbook is the cover. \u00a0The cover for this year will be silver. \u00a0Though Mrs. Schmeltz adds that she is also excited about the \u201ctremendous photos the staff members have taken, the quality captions, and the cool layouts.\u201d \u00a0Hellinga\u2019s favorite part is student life because the yearbook staff is involving a lot of out of school things that go on. \u00a0She also states that involving out of school life makes it easier \u201cto get everyone in the [year]book. \u00a0Including things that happen outside of school allows us to learn things about someone not everyone already knows.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There are multiple advantages to buying a yearbook. \u00a0One of them would be that high school memories will be preserved forever. \u00a0It is also a very good way to remember friends and teachers from high school. \u00a0Downs explains that one of the advantages of purchasing a yearbook, \u201c[It] gives you a chance to remember everything about you[r] time in high school.\u201d \u00a0She also says that the yearbook staff is trying to incorporate the whole student body in the yearbook at least twice, so that means that there will be pictures of everyone\u2019s friends.<\/p>\n<p>If the thought of having a silver yearbook filled with golden memories is appealing, order a yearbook now. \u00a0According to Mrs. Schmeltz the price of the yearbook is $55 until the end of the school year, but the price will go up to $65 if ordered in the fall.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4496\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/social.plymouth.k12.in.us\/perspective\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/DSC_0508.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4496\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4496\" title=\"DSC_0508\" src=\"http:\/\/social.plymouth.k12.in.us\/perspective\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/DSC_0508-300x183.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"183\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-4496\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Buying a yearbook will insure that high school memories are preserved forever.
