Freshman Brittani Allison is one student that does not know what she will be doing. Allison said, “If I am staying at home, I will probably spend time with my family and friends, [but] if I am traveling I will be going to my grandparents house in Arkansas.” Junior Vanessa Blair said she will be staying home and she said, “I probably won’t do much but enjoy the weather and hang out.” Juniors Bellinda Bottorff and Amanda Bottomley, along with sophomores Jena Baker and Shelby Pratt, also said they will be staying home, as well as hanging out with friends. Allison said that she would be staying longer than spring break if she travels, but the others say that they will be coming back to school on the appropriate date.

During spring break, some people feel that it is time to be spent with someone who is special to him and her. Bottorff said that she will be spending the break with close friends and “somebody special.” Bottomley said she will be with family and friends as Pratt just said “maybe,” to whether she will be spending time with someone special or not.

People seem to do the same thing every spring break as a tradition, but others may change it up each year. “I change it up, last year I went to a zoo; the year before that to a chocolate factory and this year I’m not going anywhere,” Blair said. Bottorff, like Blair tries to change it up, “I try to change my spring break up in simple, fun ways. I would like to go to the zoo and go prom dress shopping with close friends this year.” Baker is the opposite from Blair and Bottorff when it comes to spring break. “Every year is the same for me and it’s sleeping in, staying home or hanging with friends,” Baker said. Pratt is similar to Baker as well as Bottomley, but Bottomley’s break is going to be different in one way; she has a job at the Showland Cinemas.

Even though traveling is a fun and great experience, home is home and nothing can beat it. So hopefully students enjoy it no matter what.

By Brandon Heims Spring break may not be very popular in the traveling area, but that does not mean that it will not be full of interesting events.

[8
26
post-4389","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-feature","tag-march-2012
