in the city of Plymouth, he attended LaVille from kindergarten to ninth grade. He explains the reason for changing schools is because there were too many classes cut from their curriculum and he likes the academic challenge here. Despite the unfamiliar environment and the challenges of new encounters, Scutchfield considers coming to a new school one of the most exciting experiences he has had.
After getting to know Scutchfield, it is no surprise that the single word he would use to describe himself is musical. He is not joking when he explains, “my whole life is music.” Starting at age three, Scutchfield has learned to play seventeen different instruments. While he obviously loves them all, he considers the violin his favorite to play. With his talent, he has composed one symphony, two capiues, and performs at several different types of musical events including festivals, jams, and an occasional concert. Out of all the genres that he plays, he likes jazz the most because of all the improvising one can do.

If interested, Scutchfield places live videos of him playing music on YouTube. He explains sometimes the live videos are not planned and are not always perfect, but he feels that when the rest of the musicians and him have the song figured out for the most part, it has a chance of going on there. Usually he only posts the videos if he thinks they are good enough for the world to see.

Scutchfield describes what sparked such a strong interest in music. He says, “Recently it has been how happy music can make people and how fun it is to play.” While he explains many people have helped him succeed throughout the years, the one person who has been the biggest inspiration to him is a musician named Vassar Celements.

While most of his life is occupied with instruments, Scutchfield also enjoys various other hobbies in and out of school. Inside the school walls he is a member of Business Professionals of America. He enjoys the club and enthuses, “The BPA projects I am doing are very exciting!” After the school day Scutchfield enjoys writing and considers becoming an author one of his many life goals for the future. He also is involved in tracing his ancestry using Genealogy.

When it comes to family, Scutchfield has no siblings, but explains his parents both play a very important role in his life. He tells how they have influenced him in almost all aspects of his life, the most being with music though.
After writing about Scutchfield, it did not take long to be captivated in all the intriguing facts about him. Hopefully one feels more comfortable to stop him in the halls or chat with him in class and take the chance to learn more about a unique, new student.

By Tiffany Buchanan In an attempt to
