By Jaidlyn Larimore<\/em><\/p>\n Students at PHS have school spirit. While some students wear their normal attire, other students go over and beyond.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Students at PHS have different thoughts about the definition of school spirit. Freshman Allie Wright said school spirit is \u201cwhen you do the activities and stuff for the week. It shows that you are creative and very outgoing.\u201d Senior Cierra Carroll said, \u201cschool spirit is when you have a blast dressing up for your school and supporting the different things that take place in the school atmosphere.\u201d Junior Heston Blankenship said school spirit is \u201ckids being kids.\u201d Senior Maggie Morrow said school spirit is \u201cjust everyone coming together and cheering on our school.\u201d Junior Andria Shook said, \u201cSchool spirit is being with your peers and rooting on your schools activities but also having fun while doing that.\u201d Freshman Melissa Slater said, \u201cIt’s when people get extremely excited for their school and show how they feel towards their school.\u201d<\/p>\n Teens usually like to join in during pep rallies during school, but sometimes there are those few students who do not get enthusiastic. Wright said \u201cyes, I feel that it is necessary to do the pep rallies.\u00a0 It’s fun and lets kids relax and not be shy.\u201d Morrow said, \u201cI always join in during pep rallies! \u00a0I think they are so much fun, and it really helps the classes come together.\u201d<\/p>\n There are times where PHS has a week where students dress up to different themes. Sometimes that week consists of a nerd day, gangster day, mismatch day and many more. Blankenship does not dress up for that week. Shook said, \u201cyes!\u201d when asked if she dresses up during that week.<\/p>\n Since there is a variety of themes during the week, PHS dresses up wacky. Students seem to have more fun. Being asked what theme she would like for the next time PHS dresses up crazy, Carroll said, \u201cI think it would be fun to have a toga day!\u201d Slater said, \u201cI think it should be animals.\u201d Morrow said, \u201cI don’t really know of a theme, but my favorite dress up days are gangster day and metro day. \u00a0Everyone usually goes all out for those.\u201d<\/p>\n When asked how students rate themselves on the scale of 1-10 on how much school spirit they have, Wright said, \u201cI have about a 4 because I don’t do many of the activities. I\u2019m not creative enough to come up with anything.\u201d Carroll thinks that should would be an 8 on that scale. Morrow isn\u2019t too sure on what she would rate herself on that scale. Shook said she would be a 10 and also added a simple smiley face afterwards. Last but not least, Slater said, \u201c5, I don’t get THAT into it but I think it’s fun sometimes and I dress up for it some times on the days we are told.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By Jaidlyn Larimore Students at PHS have school spirit.
