Tippett.

Born and raised in Flushing, Michigan, Mr. Tippett was a footballer with a big dream of playing for the NFL Detroit Lions. His dream was quickly changed when he wanted to do more and teach the minds of tomorrow. He says that he really enjoys seeing kids get that “a-ha” moment and being not only a teacher to his students, but a friend. He chose to become a math teacher because he enjoyed math as a student and decided to become a teacher in his senior year of high school.

“My favorite thing about teaching math is working with students and seeing their light bulb go off when they understand a concept. One of the best feelings ever,” Mr. Tippett said.

His heroes are his parents because they truly supported and loved him when he was growing up, and he says he owes everything to them. When asked if he would change his life in any way, he said he wouldn’t change anything at all because he loves his life already. He enjoys both football, history and teaching.

“My advice would be to enjoy your time in high school. Four years in high school seems like a long time, but high school really flies by. Get active in sports, clubs, and other extracurricular activities. Being involved in my school’s activities made my high school experience much more enjoyable,” he advised the freshmen.

Mr. Tippett went to the Flushing High School in Michigan, and said that it is very different than PHS. He says that it is somewhat smaller than his school, but he really enjoys the one to one technology at PHS.

Although he is a Michigander, he truly embraces the Hoosier way.
