This is his favorite quote because it really helped him get through a dark time, and he thought the only way from down is up.

Eric was born on June 26, 1997, in Plymouth, Indiana and moved to Bourbon when he was just born. He moved back to Plymouth when he was three years old and has lived here ever since. He has six brothers and one sister ranging in age from 14 to 39. He started at Taco Bell in September of 2013, and was promoted to a manager in July of 2014.

An interesting fact about Eric is that he has a tattoo of a treble clef on his bicep. Music is very important in his life. He started playing instruments when he was in the sixth grade. The first instrument he played was the trumpet; he also plays the French horn, the mellophone in the summer and cymbals in the drum line. He plays in the jazz band, and symphonic band. His favorite band is “Fall Out Boy” and his favorite song is “Beam Me Up” by P!nk. He likes all types of music except for country music.

Eric Burch helping a student. Photo by: Janessa Salazar

His favorite movie is The Fault in Our Stars because he loved the book and anticipated the movie for a long time. Eric’s favorite book is The Perks of being a Wallflower. He really identifies with it because he had older friends who graduated and he feels the same as the main character. Similar to the main character, he’s also introverted but once people get to know him, he is very outgoing.

What Eric likes most about high school is if someone loses a friend there is always a person who will help the person out. He really does not have any clue what he wants to do after high school, but he knows he wants to take a gap year and wants to help people and work with them. There are a lot of inspirations in Eric’s life, but the most inspiring person is his mother. The reason she inspires him the most is that even though she’s faced a great deal of problems; she is very open and uses her past to show her children. Eric strives to be a better person because of his mom and is learning through the struggles that she went through.

By, Meghan Caine Junior Eric Matthew Burch’s favorite quote is “And so rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life” by J.K Rowling.
