Photo contributed by Janessa Salazar

By: Samantha Grant

Emma Rose Daniels is a freshman at Plymouth High School. Since it is her first year, her hope thus far is to graduate like any other high school student. Although there have been many fun moments in school, her favorite moment so far is passing Global Perspective. Her hopes after high school are to leave Indiana and go to college. Her career choice for the future is computer engineering because she says “it comes naturally.” Unlike most people, her biggest inspiration is herself because she has fallen and risen.

Emma has gone to many places and been through many things. She has moved from South Bend to Plymouth. She moved from Plymouth to South Bend because when her mom and stepdad met they decided to leave her grandmother’s house and go somewhere new so they moved back to Plymouth so she could attend Plymouth High School. They have a vacation house in Michigan. She has traveled to many places including Michigan, Illinois, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida. Her favorite trip she’s ever taken was going to Puerto Rico because experienced a lot of cultural techniques and aspects there. Although moments are important to her, she would rather capture and remember the moment with memories rather than having a photo because the memories last a lifetime.

She spends more time reading books than she does watching television. But she’ll put any book down to watch her favorite show called “The Walking Dead.” Her celebrity crush just so happens to be a character on “Walking Dead” named Chandler Rigg who plays the main character’s son. Other than reading, she enjoys being on the Color Guard team during marching band season and the winter season. She also was lucky enough to attend a Katy Perry concert when she was 12 years old. She is fairly busy during not only the school year but also during the summer with her days mostly taken up by babysitting.

Happiness is something she has a lot of, but she describes happiness as being “whole because she feels as if when you’re unhappy a part of you is missing but when you gain happiness you’re now whole.” She has many quotes she keeps close to her but her favorite is “Do not only practice your art, but force your way into its secret for it and knowledge can raise men to the divine. -Unknown.” That may be her favorite quote, but her life motto is “When in doubt take a nap.” She thinks of this as her life motto because she states that sleep is when one can get away from life. So far she has only one big regret, wake up and getting out of bed. Even though getting out of bed is sometimes hard for her, her biggest hope is to not only get through life but survive it. She aspires to do so much more in her future but so far she is living life one day at a time.

By: Samantha Grant Emma Rose Daniels is a freshman at Plymouth High School.
