New Staff: Mr. Grindle

Mr. Grindle as a new teacher at PHS

Mr. Grindle is a new teacher at PHS

Mr. Joel Grindle is the type of teacher that a student can go to if they are having trouble in business math.

Plymouth High School is not the only school where Mr. Grindle has taught. Mr. Grindle wanted to have a teaching job because he loves education, plus he is a graduate of Plymouth High School, and now he is  able to help students out in school.

This is Mr. Grindle’s fourth school.  He always tells his students that all of the schools that he has taught at have their own pros and cons.

He loved the first couple of weeks at PHS, and hopes to be more involved in the future.

Mr. Grindle loves teaching because he gets to build relationships with all of the students and the staff at the school. During break, when Mr. Grindle is not stuck grading papers for his students, he loves to go hiking and swimming.

Coming from the small town of Plymouth, Indiana where it’s mainly corn and beans, Jorge Quintana was born on May 6, 1999. He grew up in a family of seven people and is the second youngest out of the lively bunch.

Quintana is in his senior year as a member of the Rockies football team and he is also a member of the Plymouth track team. Quintana  is a right guard on the football team and throws shotput and discus for the track team.

His plans after high school are not finalized yet, but Quintana said, “I would love to attend the University of Indianapolis where I would like to study youth education.”

Quintana’s goals are to follow in his brother’s footsteps and become a high school football coach. Quintana also said, “I think that it would be pretty cool if one day I could coach for the high school team I grew up playing for.”

He loves his dog Lily. She is a terrier mix that loves to have fun and run around in the back yard. One of Quintana’s favorite hobbies is going to the gym and lifting weights as many times a week as he can.

Jorge is a staff member of the student publications staff. Quintana explained that he joined the class because he was  “asked to join” and “wanted to try something new, I am always down for a challenge.”
