Seniors reflect on the past four years of their lives and tell all about their experiences, memories, and goals.

Plymouth’s seniors are currently working their way towards the end of the year. Which for most PHS students, it would just be the end of another school year, but for seniors it will be the end of a journey. The past four years have showed many changes, improvements in attitudes, life changing decisions, and future goals. Their plans vary from college programs they wish to attend, to military plans they wish to pursue. Seniors tell the Pilgrim Perspective their point of view of high school, from the start to the end.

Senior Miranda Gayheart says as a freshman she wanted to move aross the country and travel, but now that she is a senior, she wants to stay close to home with her family. Gayheart also says she never wanted to go to college, but now it is a possibility that she could attend a local college after graduation. Senior Amanda Wolford also informed the Pilgrim Perspective of her old and new plans. As a freshman Wolford wanted to be an athletic trainer since she was very into sports. Now as a senior she wants to go into the education field as an elementary school teacher or the health field as a dietician. She says “Now, I have no interest in being an athletic trainer!” Breanna Morrow, another 2014 graduate tells of her unique route she is taking, that is not heard of very often. Morrow tells of how as a freshman she always wanted to be in the theatre program, either being an actress or a teacher in acting. But now as she prepares to graduate her decision has changed and she wants to go into mission work. As a freshman, Morrow hoped to attend Purdue University to pursue her acting joy. As a senior she has decided, “I will be participating in a GAP year,” which is a 9 month program in Costa Rica.

Senior Briana Gantz tells about her goals. As a freshman she planned on going to college in Florida to be a nurse, but that has changed over these long four years at PHS. Gantz now plans on enlisting in the Airforce, and then becoming a Veterinarian when she returns.

High school is not only a time for plans to change, it changes steudents mentally also. As seniors, students look back on the past four years and tell the Pilgrim Perspective how they feel they have changed. Wolford says “As a freshman it was all about popularity for me.” She talks about now as a senior, she is no longer friends with whom she was as a freshman. She also talks about how she values her parents, and her family a lot more now since she has realized she only has a few more months with them before she goes out on her own in life. “I have a lot stronger faith and I’m content with who I am.” Gantz says “I was really nervous as a freshman just because I didn’t know what to expect, but now I’m more nervous about the future.” Wolford says she can not believe that she is about to graduate. “It goes by so fast, it’s ridiculous. I probably won’t see all these people together again!”

So when the current seniors started high school back in 2010, it is hard to believe that they are five short months away from walking down that red carpet, getting their diploma, and moving on to the next steps of their lives, whether that be college, the military, marriage, or just getting a job. Senior Amanda Wolford is leaving behind some long lasting advice for the freshman, and the future ones to come; “For all the underclassmen, you’ll value people you don’t even realize matter to you. Keep people close! High school is what you make of it.”

Senior Briana Gantz said that she intends on joining the Air force after she graduates.
