But to others, art can be something that has significant meaning.

It can be hard for students to feel confident when it comes to their art work. For example when asked “Do you feel confident when it comes to drawing, painting, etc.? Why or why not?” freshman Leonardo Baca said, “ No, because when I look at other people’s work and can not manipulate the exact look, I can’t call myself an artist.” But other students can feel confident when it comes to their art work. For example, freshman Sara Bradley answered, “Yes, I do feel very confident when it comes to anything that has to deal with any art related subject because I am a very artistic person who loves to look at or even create art.” It depends on the person to see whether or not he or she is confident in art.

People look at their art work and see failure, but others can see a masterpiece that means something. That is why students were then asked “Do you think art has a special meaning behind it? If so does everything in art have a special meaning?” Senior Gianella Cerriteno said, “Art has many meanings to many people but to me it means freedom of speech and a freedom of showing how you feel when you can’t speak out for yourself.” Cerriteno also said “Art helps me actually be a better songwriter, musician, and person as well.” Baca says “Art influences me to be better at drawing pictures, I want to be an expert and live up to my name.”

People have a certain way of doing things when it comes to drawing, painting, and the arts. That is why the students when also asked, “Do you have a certain way of doing things when it comes to art? If so what are they and how do they help you?” Bradley answered, “Yes, I mostly create paper sculpting, but I cut all the colored paper up and sometimes most of my artwork has a lot of smaller details. Some people even wonder a lot on how I do it all, I just say “I just do it.” I taught myself on how to create my own art in my own way, I wanted to do something different, something that I love to create that has meaning.” Baca said, “I am someone who is sketchy, I try to make the shape, and go on and add the rest as I draw.”

When it comes to art, people can have a certain way of doing things. Certain people will look at their art and think it is a masterpiece. Others will see failure. People will look at art and it will influence them, or they will see meaning behind it. But in reality, it really just depends on the person.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-7974" class="size-medium wp-image-7974" alt="Freshman Sara Bradley is very confident in her work.
